The 'Olympiapark', built in the 1970's, is an important ensemble in todays city scape of Munich. It is one of the most intensively frequented open spaces within the urban area. Appealing events attract additional streams of visitors from outskirt areas as well as from inside the city. The future development of the park area is a challenge with which the representatives from the City Council, the District Council, the responsible city departments, the 'Olympiapark Mnchen GmbH', the public services and of the Technical University of Munich - all being users or specialists for the concerned topics - have to deal with. Based on an updated appraisal of the whole area, the general conditions for a sustainable advancement of the park were discussed, questions were brought up, options were set and visions developed.
The updated data and materials as well as all relevant results were summarised in a final documentation paper. This will be used as background knowledge for further planning, in order to guard the quality of this unique and significant park scape.
